PPIE raises funds in four key ways
- Business, realtor and foundation sponsors – we appreciate the generous donations of area businesses and foundations as well as the real estate community – visit these links to see our great community sponsors.
- Fun Events – PPIE hosts two great events each year to energize the community and support our schools and students. We host a special Fall Gala called Night of the Stars and, in the spring, a Pleasanton Run for Education that attracts 3,000+ people of all ages.
- Major Donors – committed families have joined PPIE to make significant donations and build a matching fund for a brighter future for our students. Please contact our PPIE Board President, Stephen Hilton, or our Executive Director, Steve McCoy-Thompson, to learn more.
- Family Giving – Approximately 75% of PPIE funding comes from Pleasanton school families (see pie chart) – with donations made primarily during school registration in August and our matching campaign later in the year. Our donation request of $500 per student is less than comparable Bay Area districts. However, we know this is a lot for many families. We encourage donations in every amount and offer monthly payment options. We also make corporate matching easy and include this match in your overall giving level. All donations are tax deductible (Fed ID #94-3046738).

- 100% Goal – We want 100% participation at any level – with thousands of us donating what we can, we will achieve our goal together. If every family donates $10/month, we can raise $1 million and fund the supplemental staff we need at our schools – librarians, technology and intervention specialists, new class sections to lower class size, and more! We offer monthly payment plans and every donation is tax deductible.
- When – Donations for PPIE’s Annual Giving Fund are accepted anytime, but the official Campaign runs from August through April. Our major donation periods are at August School Registration and during our matching program during the school year.
- How – We have THREE options:
-
-
- At School Registration in August, every family signs up on Future Fund for the school directory, to buy spirit wear and yearbooks, and to donate. Be sure to visit PPIE to donate and secure your matching funds!
- Throughout the year, including our Super Match period, go directly to our website to donate and secure matching funds.
- Checks are always welcome!
- Matching Funds – Many companies will match employee donations, which means your donation can grow from 25% to 100% without spending another cent of your own money! Company matching is 100% voluntary and fully tax-deductible – our Federal Tax ID is #94-3046738. However, the only way PPIE will receive your company matching is if YOU INITIATE the process. Here are the steps:
- Donate to PPIE – if you donate via Future Fund AND list your company employer, Future Fund will automatically email you instructions to make it easy. If you donate via our PPIE website, you can also visit our Corporate Match Search engine to see if your company matches. Our search feature will provide all the information you need to get that match!
- Get the Match – with your information in hand (via Future Fund or the PPIE website), complete your company matching form (a link is typically provided) and submit to the listed representative. If your company is not listed, donors should contact your company’s HR or Benefits department to start the process, which is usually an online form that takes very little time.
- Question? – if you still have questions, contact PPIE directly at mail@ppie.org and we’ll be happy to help!
