What teachers are saying about the Inspiring Learning through Technology program:
I cannot say enough good things that have come from this grant. The apps and programs I have been able to subscribe to have been so helpful to my students. With these subscription services, I can reach so many more of my students who learn differently and the content that I present is so much more engaging and fun.
The subscription of CoSpaces has had such a positive impact in my classroom. Fostering creativity and collaboration using Augmented and Virtual Reality introduces new technological advancements that are now available at their fingertips. I love how this website allows students to explore coding and for students who are not yet fluent in coding can opt-out and use the basic features encouraging differentiation inside the classroom. I have found students are significantly more engaged in enrichment and extension projects when using CoSpaces.
My French students and I have loved using the website Storyboard That and would like to thank PPIE very much for your support and for giving us access to such a wonderful resource! We have used Storyboard That in groups of 2 or 3 to create comic strips with dialogues for the theme we are studying. In their dialogues, students use the vocabulary and specific grammar structures from our unit as well as idiomatic conversation expressions we have learned. Because they can use the words in context, the words move from being in their passive vocabulary to being a part of their active vocabulary, and then they really own those words! Students love having the chance to work collaboratively with a partner, and they love the chance to inject humor into the comics they create together.
